A simple gripe –

Restaurant portions. . . make them smaller please, or at least offer it as an option. Yes, sometimes I take the leftovers home and have a great lunch the next day. . . but there are plenty of times I want to go somewhere after the restaurant. . . Why should I have to pay for something I can’t eat because it is too much and can’t take with me unless I am going straight home. . . So many of us stop to eat in the middle of other activities or on the way TO someplace. . . I have actually avoided certain restaurants when we are out because I resent having to waste food. . . and my money. . . and as much as I am known for eating out way too much, there have been times I have eaten at home just to not waste food. . .

The good of offering too large of a portion is that sometimes I actually eat less than I would have so I have enough left to take home. . . but the option to order smaller portions without being a senior or a child would be great. . .

And how much food ARE y’all throwing away?

I ask for the to-go box when I order, then divide the food when it comes. My husband eats the other half of my sandwich on Saturday (from our Friday night date.)

Norma – when our son was growing up I always split my meals with him. My husband rarely left food behind, so it worked out well. We could run off and have fun with no food wasted.

I like your idea to divide it before you eat, solves several problems.
