I haven’t posted any brilliant or not so brilliant thoughts because I have been reading instructions, (and emailing for help) updating memberships in U-tube and Gabcast, reading directions, lurking (oops) and delurking and sending my brother info on contests trying to push him over into entering.
But, I’ve also been trying to read my poems without tripping on the words, without sounding like every other human being, or every performance poet, but ME and not some freaked out alien. (No, Leon, you are an alien, but not freaked out. . . off the wall at times. . . .) Let’s just say that since I haven’t posted one on my poetry blog or here. . . it didn’t go so well. . .
Now part of that is the tripping on the words, followed by the bluhblubbbluhhh sound repeated enough times to squash my frustration, part was just I didn’t know what I wanted it to sound like. However, I did figure out what might work. Since I love to correct my husband, I should just have him read them (and he has no clue) and then correct him. . . That way I can figure it out. But then, he is an actor and has directed, and managed people, so he may try to correct my vision of my own poem’s sound. Hmmm. Actually, since he does have experience making a play look pretty darn good. . . I’ll let y’all judge. . . Whenever we can fit it in. For now – home early – no rain – new plants – leftover Chinese (curry) dinner – I’m out of here and into fresh air.
