Driving down winding roads through rolling hills. The hills seem to be everywhere, the roads seem to go forever toward nowhere, surrounded with new wheat planted beneath blue skies, bright sun, fluffy clouds. I could be talking about in a simple conversation, because it applies there, too; I am not. I am referring to vehicle drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists. Daring to walk out or change lanes or turn in front of something or someone without taking that extra second to make sure they see you [...] Someone out there is always better at something than you are. They may not be where you can see them, they may even be a generation after you. It is not being the best of everyone we need to fight for, it is being the best we can be. The Tacoma Narrows Bridge, WA. This is not a current photo, I believe I took it in late 2005. I loved seeing the construction, but don’t like narrow bridges, especially ones that have those signs warning of cross winds and the like. Look at the traffic! That is probably the day [...] Vacations end, work begins, it is up to the individual to find joy in returning to work – and some weeks it may be much harder than others. Stopping the rest of your life long enough to have a date night with your husband or wife. . . it is amazing what it does to the heart and mind. |
