I had to cut Dale Ellen from the picture, as I have lost track of her and have no permission to post her picture — and she wore her beer cans quite well, too! We were quite the about the last I ever sewed, lol. And no, we did not drink the beer… we left that to others to do. Not that I wouldn’t now had they not ruined beer cans as curlers by changing the style of can…. Rotten to us, those companies were. . . .
Dale Ellen where are you???? Six Degrees of separation, millions of bloggers — hmmm.
Photo taken in St. Petersburg, FL. Please, do not use without permission. Thank you!

Fantastic! I love this.
My mother said that she used to use orange juice cans but they rinsed their hair with beer. She assured me they rinsed the beer back out again.
Rayne – Rinsing hair in beer or vinegar was quite widespread in the day. It was rinsed back out, lol. Don’t tell anyone, but I used to actually be able to sleep in these.
Interesting photo. Fun to see unusual uses for the beer cans.
Thanks, Stephanie.
That is a great picture!
I don’t know a Dale Ellen. But I’ll keep my eyes out for her.
Thank you! I love the idea of rediscovering an old friend!
